LINOCUTS 2021 – “MY OWN MESSOLONGHI”

This exhibition presents linocuts produced during the academic year 2020-2021.

The artworks present the city of Mesolongi from its different perspectives and point of views, highlighting the character of the city. Characteristic places depicted are the Kleisova Grove, the Observatory, the Tree of Love, the lagoon, etc.

The most important goal of the works is to render the landscape in color, emphasizing the prevailing ash-silver atmosphere as well as colors such as khaki, ochre and pure black. If there were words that would characterize this city, they would certainly be romance, tranquility, relaxation, spiritual awakening, and the subcutaneous agonistic nature in apnea.

The viewer recognizes the snapshots of the city as engravings as they become immersed in the present and appropriate the space offered to them. Each in their own unique way.
